Complete usable PC. Big 160GB Hard Drive. Monitor. Some offers include a monitor or even a flat panel thin monitor; added warranty available.

Shared memory and not the fastest processor so this PC will seem just a bit slow most times. Expensive optional warranty extension and hardware upgrades. A basic homework or writing or surfing PC

Large 160 Gigabyte Hard Drive, speedy enough processor to use for homework, writing, looking up stuff, even basic games that do not demand the fastest Hyperthreading or Dual processors and do not need a lot of video memory. The longer warranty or on-site warranty options and any hardware upgrades and accessories are a bit pricey and I have heard some horror stories about financing with Dell. Be sure to get CD installation media in case you need to reinstall the Operating System to recover from system problems such as a bad virus or spyware problem.

Dell’s entry-level desktop series starts as low as $299. That price requires you send in for a $50 mail-in rebate but does include a 17-inch CRT monitor and two-piece speaker set. At this price, you’ll have to keep your expectations in check; Dimension B110 desktops feature aging budget parts, including the now three-generations-old Intel 865GV (Springdale) chipset. While these systems aren’t suitable as your primary, everyday PC, they could make an affordable second or third PC for the most basic tasks.

Don’t expect much in terms of graphics from the Dimension B110. It uses the Intel Extreme 2 integrated graphics that uses 64MB of system memory. 3D performance is such that it cannot even play the most basic of PC games. The system also lacks an AGP or PCI Express graphics card slot for upgrading the video. On the plus side, the system does come standard with a 17” monitor.
