The eMachines T5234 ($499 direct) is likely to be found near the MP3 players (okay, iPods), HD-DVD/Blu-ray players, and HDTVs in your local big-box electronics store. Availability is one of the eMachines T5234’s greatest strengths, and so, of course, is price. It will prove to be a good choice for the budget-minded shopper who’s trying to buy that PC for the family this holiday season. The T5234 is a well-equipped budget system, one that will keep some of the more demanding users out there happy. There are better choices (particularly the Dell Inspiron 531s) for about $500, but if you want the system now instead of ordering it, go for the T5234.
