LaCie’s Rugged Hard Disk is the largest capacity single-disk mobile product seen in recent times. This tough and durable drive is available in both USB 2.0 and Triple interface versions and is still 100% bus-powered. The device features Hitachi Travelstar 5K500, 2.5-inch internal hard disk and an award winning rugged design by Neil Poulton. The shock-resistant metal and rubber bumper with internal anti-shock absorbers ensure that the device remains secure (and protects data) against accidental bumps. It even features LaCie Setup Assistant, which is a proprietary utility that automatically formats the drive according to your needs. The utilities included in the LaCie Rugged are LaCie ‘1-Click’ Backup Software for both PC and Mac and SilverKeeper for Mac. It can store up to 710 movies, 135,000 songs, or 550,000 photos.
