The NEC MultiSync LCD225WNXM ($390 street) delivers many of the features you’d expect from a business-class display, including a USB hub and a highly adjustable stand. However, if you require accurate grayscale reproduction, there are better-performing monitors out there.
It sports the same black finish and thin-bezel design used on earlier MultiSync models, including the LCD195WVXM and LCD1970GX. The 1,680-by-1,050 widescreen panel is supported by a sturdy stand that provides height, swivel, tilt, and pivot adjustments. Surprisingly, the monitor does not come with an auto-pivot utility, nor does it have a built-in sensor mechanism such as the one found on Lenovo’s L190X model. This means you’ll have to use your graphics card’s control panel to change the image orientation. Three clips are hidden beneath a removable cover on the mounting arm to keep the audio, video, and USB cables organized and out of the way.
